Designer and illustrator Chloe Tyler

I’m Chloe, an Illustrator and Designer.

I’m based in lovely Bristol although I’m originally from Oxfordshire. It’s a classic Bristol story, I moved here for university and never left!

After graduating from UWE, I worked within design agencies before working as a freelance designer and illustrator. I’ve spent the last couple of years as a freelancer refining my creative craft and I’m now open to new creative opportunities.

I’ve got 5 years of experience across brand, print and digital design. I like to bring fresh ideas to the table and can take concepts and mock ups through to final outcomes. I’m driven not only by the creative brief, but also my passion for making a positive impact on the world.

Creative Achievements

Publication design showing images of benches in a Bristol park.

Degree show exhibit

Created a portfolio of work to exhibit in one of the galleries at the Arnolfini, Bristol as part of my degree show open to the general public. My work centred around ‘Escapes from Reality.’ This had a focus on our wellbeing and how we escape from daily life.

Unicornfest

Designed and painted a two metre unicorn sculpture as part of an art trail around Bristol to raise money and awareness for Leukaemia Care UK. The sculpture I worked on was auctioned off in October 2023, raising money for the charity.

ISTD

Submitted an experimental typographic publication design in response to a student brief set by ISTD called Ulysses. My submission was awarded a pass with membership to ISTD for a “strong visual solution” and “highly controlled” use of typography. I’ve also recently reinstated my membership.

Upfest Presents

Selected as an artist to take part in the live painting session for Upfest Presents on 1st June 2024. I designed and painted a 4ft board as part of the festival event which included a fun and bold symmetrical (ish!) flower design with dragonflies.

Creative skills

I’m experienced in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and XD as a given. I can also illustrate in Procreate, bringing that lovely texture to digital illustrations.

I’ve worked with a variety of project management software as well as having the usual experience in Microsoft Office.

Alongside my software skills, I’m also big on collaboration. I have experience of working with a creative team to bring ideas to life. I’m also experienced in managing projects from start to finish both individually and as part of a team.

I love learning new skills and I’m always refining my creative craft and attending creative events to keep in touch with the current trends.
